Die Gesamtheit aller Bodenlebewesen wird in der Bodenökologie Edaphon genannt, ein Begriff mit verblüffender klanglicher Assoziation (“phon” wie in Telefon, Mikrofon, Xylofon..?). In den Workshops vermitteln wir auf anschauliche und aktivierende Weise Wissen über die verschiedenen Protagonist*innen im Boden: von relativ großen Tieren (Makrobiota) wie Mäusen, Regenwürmern, Asseln und Käfern über mittelkleine (Mesobiota) Tiere wie Springschwänze, Nematoden oder Milben bis hin zu den Mikrobiota, den Bakterien und Pilzen. Welche Funktionen haben sie im Boden, wer frisst wen, wer arbeitet zusammen (Symbiose)? Wie beeinflusst das Klima die Bodenbewohner?

For this workshop series, I collaborate with Dr. Karin Pirhofer of Weltacker Berlin to discover the Edaphon, a term to describe all living organisms in the soil. The participants produce their own radioplays or sound pieces by empathizing with soil insects, athropods, fungi, bacteria or plant roots. Before plotting the stories, we collect and measure soil samples and get to know the protagonists, their sizes, properties and functions in the ecosystem.
Voice coach and actor Claudia Wiedemer guides everybody through body and voice exercises in order to inspire the use of the own voice for speaking, role playing and even sound effects.
